This day at the beach happened last month, in June. June 24th, to be precise. It was a nice day for being at the beach. I did an outreach with my friend Patty. She packed cold water, sandwiches and fruit. I packed the sunscreen and a hat. I bought along a bottle of water, too. We were doing an outreach to the community at a Boardwalk Bash health fair at Midland Beach on Staten Island, volunteering for the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the Staten Island affiliate. I've been a bit under the weather since then, and not going out much, so no outfits to post. Also I haven't had much energy or ambition for blogging, sorry to say. Hopefully I'm on the mend, and I'll be back posting outfits and articles again.
This is the first maxi dress I've bought, and I like it. It fits well (no bra straps visible in front or in back), it doesn't ride up and it's long enough to be a maxi, but it doesn't drag on the floor. The linen shirt is so comfortable! Perfect for when there's a bit of a breeze blowing, as there was at the beach that day.
I wear two different sunscreens, one for my face and one for my body, because most sunscreens irritate my face, but this one from La Roche-Posay works very well. It was expensive, but I got it on sale for half price from either www.walgreens.com or www.drugstore.com, I can't remember which. So I got two, and now I'm set for a good long time with sunscreen. That's good, because I use it every day I go out.
The Chaco sandals I've had for a few years now, and they're great. They're comfortable and they don't irritate my feet, the way some sandals can. You can loosen or tighten the ties that hold the foot in place.
I hope all of you are enjoying the summer. It's definitely my favorite season of the year.
